Tenteram has officially SOLD for $2,800,000 making it the highest sale ever in Palm Cove

A Palm Cove masterpiece has set a new sales price record for the stunning beachside community after changing hands for $2.8 million.

The stunning, custom-built home is a fusion of Indian, Indonesian and Australia influences.

Called Tenteram, which means peaceful and calm, the residence was sold by Sean Thorpe and Jan Hoogie of Paradise Property Group Cairns Beaches.

Mr Thorpe said the sale was a suburb record for Palm Cove and was the highest price per square meter for the Cairns Northern Beaches.

“This has been a very exciting campaign, with buyer enquiry levels tracking well above average, the vendor receiving multiple offers ensuring that they sold for the very best price, and Tenteram officially breaking all records in Palm Cove,” Mr Thorpe said.

Campaign data revealed that the property, which was the cover of the Cairns Post Real Estate magazine in October, attracted nearly 163,000 social media and online views, 12,592 YouTube views, 72 buyer enquiries, 16 private inspections, and six contracts and offers.

“We are now focused on trying to identify similar properties in the area for buyers who missed out,” Mr Thorpe said.

Palm Cove was crowned the world’s best beach by Conde Nast Traveller magazine last year, beating beaches in Hawaii, Indonesia and France.

At the time, Tourism Palm Cove president Matthew Cork said the community was delighted to discover their hidden gem had been listed as number one beach in the world.

“Palm Cove is a place that truly embodies something special, something unique that captures the hearts of everyone who visits,” he told Tourism Tropical North Queensland at the time.

Tenteram was home to vendors Kay and Justin Reeves, who built the retreat from scratch.

“We moved to Palm Cove from the Currumbin Valley where we owned and operated a Healthy Indonesian Cooking School and Meditation Retreat,” Ms Reeves said.

“After the tragic loss of our son Victor to suicide, we moved to Palm Cove to live closer to our daughter.”

The couple said they were conscious of creating a sense of peace and serenity, fusing Indian and Indonesian designs with modern Australian architecture.

“We were very conscious of creating a sense of peace and serenity which is the meaning of the Indonesian word Tenteram that the home takes its name from,” she said.

The three-bedroom property includes a meditation room, private walled tropical courtyard with Asian-inspired gardens and water features, two bathrooms, a whiskey and wine bar, gourmet kitchen and a herb and vegetable garden.
